Acne development is triggered by the excessive production of sebum that becomes trapped in the hair follicles, resulting in bacterial infection of the sebaceous glands. Contributing factors include heredity, hormonal changes, medications, environment, diet, constrictive clothing and makeup.

Acne is characterized by inflammation and the formation of comedones, milia, pimples, pustules, nodules or cysts. Shallow lesions are usually minor and heal quickly. In moderate or severe cases infected material may spread out into the surrounding tissue, causing inflammation. To prevent significant scarring acne should be treated in the early stages. Acne lesions commonly appear during puberty- mainly on the face, neck, chest, back and upper arms.

Microdermabrasion is a gentle, non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment.

Fine mineral crystals are projected against the skin’s surface with Silhouette-Tone’s patented Turbo Flow System for gentle resurfacing of the epidermal layer with immediate improvement in overall skin appearance.

Microdermabrasion improves the absorption rate of the optical energy and micro-current conductivity by removing up to 30% of the epidermis.

Microdermabrasion can be combined with other treatments including Purelight B transdermal delivery for optimum penetration of active ingredients.

Treatment Indication:

Skin rejuvenation, skin resurfacing, blemishes, acne and mild to moderate acne scarring.

Treatment Protocol:
Requires a minimum of 5-6 consecutive treatment sessions 7-10 days apart. Monthly maintenance treatments are recommended.

PURE LIGHT B – controlled wavelengths of violet light stimulate photoreceptors in dermal layers producing singlet oxygen that attacks and destroys P. Acnes bacteria. Violet light phototherapy treatment has purifying and antibacterial properties.

The healing process helps to calm and minimize sebaceous gland activity without thermally altering surrounding tissues.

The repair process is initiated by stimulation of the body’s natural bioelectrical currents, resulting in accelerated cellular renewal, fibroblast activation and dermal remodelling, without causing injury to the epidermis. The transdermal delivery system increases the penetration of active ingredients deeper into dermal layers.

Treatment Indications:
Mild, moderate to severe acne, comedones, milia, inflammation, infection, pimples, pustules, nodules and cysts.

Treatment Protocol:
Requires a minimum of 8-10 consecutive treatment sessions 1-2 times per week. 1-2 monthly maintenance treatments are recommended.

Elos Plus is a state of the art multi-application platform from Syneron-Candela – leading manufacturers in non-invasive aesthetic procedures.

Broad-spectrum light (blue, red and near-infrared light) and bi-polar radiofrequency energy are optimally combined in each pulse and delivered to target tissues. The blue light spectrum attacks the P. Acnes bacteria in the sebaceous glands, reducing the bacterial count, healing inflammation and regulating the sebaceous gland activity.

Oxygenation and free radicals destroy the P-Acnes bacteria in the target tissues without causing injury to the epidermis. Red, infrared light spectrum and bi-polar radiofrequency initiate a thermal drying response to minimize sebum production resulting in visible improvement in textural irregularities and overall appearance of acne-prone skin.

Elos Plus uses an integrated contact cooling system for enhanced patient tolerance.

Treatment Indications:
Active papular – papulopustular acne.

Acne Treatment Protocol:
Requires a minimum of 8-10 consecutive treatment sessions 1-2 times per week.

Maintenance monthly treatment is recommended.

GentleMax Pro is a controlled amount of therapeutic energy that is delivered individually or optically to targeted tissues that destroy the P-Acnes bacteria in the target tissues without causing injury to the epidermis.

Thermal drying response is initiated to minimize sebum production resulting in visible improvement in textural irregularities and overall appearance of acne-prone skin.

A cryogen cooling system is integrated for enhanced patient tolerance.

Treatment Protocol:
Minimum 6 consecutive treatment sessions 4 weeks apart are required. Maintenance treatments are recommended.
