Hair grows in different cycles, and laser treatment is most effective when the hair is in its active growth phase (anagen).

The GentleMax Pro Plus delivers a concentrated beam of laser energy that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair shaft. The energy travels down to the hair follicle, where it heats and damages the follicle responsible for future hair growth while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.

What to Expect After Treatment

Immediately after treatment, the skin may appear slightly pink or feel warm, similar to a mild sunburn. This usually resolves within a few hours.

Over the following 1–3 weeks, treated hairs gradually shed from the follicles. This is a normal part of the process and does not mean the hair is growing back.

As treatments progress, hair becomes:

Preparing for Your Appointment

• Avoid waxing, tweezing, threading, or electrolysis for at least 4 weeks before treatment, as the laser requires the hair follicle to be present.

• Avoid tanning, self-tanners, and excessive sun exposure before and after treatment.

• Wear sunscreen daily on treated areas that are exposed to the sun.

• Inform your practitioner of any medications or recent changes to your health, as some medications can increase light sensitivity.
